Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was looking to enhance their digital presence to help increase traffic to their 8 locations across the northeast region of America. Their goal was to have their site show at the top of Google search for: bbq catering, bbq restaurant, barbecue restaurants, and restaurants in Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, Troy, Newark, Brooklyn, Stamford, and Harlem.
With a site that had never been optimized for SEO, and 8 different locations needing to rank for target keywords, getting traction in Google was going to take a while. To increase organic searches, we had to give their brand a digital boost.
We first made sure the site content was set up for success by implementing our keywords in meta titles and descriptions, title tags, and in the content on specific target pages. From there, we made sure the site was listed in all the local site directories such as YellowPages, Yelpsure, Facebook, Google Local, Bing Local, eLocal, and many others. Once we made sure these were listed accurately, we went on to create content that others would share and talk about.
To begin our link building strategy, we discovered old blog articles mentioning Dinosaur BBQ that were not linking to the site. We reached out to the bloggers and were able to build a decent amount of links right away. We continued our strategy by reaching out to local bloggers and news sites to share our content. This generated buzz and drove traffic to the main site, causing higher organic rankings.
On top of that, we implemented a strategy to create individual location landing pages to help each market location grow in web traffic and in Google rankings. We continued this process for a few months, resulting in even more organic traffic and higher rankings. The continuous link-building, website audit, and individual location pages helped drive positive results.
